S. Pantagathus, Ep. Conf. (17. April). Dieser hl. Bischof von Vienne, in der Reihenfolge der zwanzigste, dessen Verehrung durch alte Breviere und Martyrologien erwiesen ist, war zuerst Consul gewesen. Aber die demüthige Nachfolge Christi in der Obsorge für die unsterblichen Seelen gefiel ihm besser als die Erhabenheit weltlicher Ehren. Fünf Jahre lang verwaltete er das Oberhirtenamt mit Eifer und Frömmigkeit, unterzeichnete das dritte zu Orleans abgehaltene Concilium im Jahre 538, und starb um's Jahr 540. Sein Leib wurde in dem an die Kirche der heil. Apostel anstoßenden Oratorium begraben. Im J. 1567 wurden die Reliquien des Heiligen in die Hauptkirche übertragen. (II. 486.)
