S. Viventiolus (Juventiolus), Ep. Conf. (12. Juli). Dieser hl. Bekenner und Bischof von Lyon, dessen Geburtsort unbekannt ist, brachte die ersten Jahre seiner Jugend in einem Kloster des Juragebirges zu. Nachbem er im Kloster Condat längere Zeit der dortigen Schule vorgestanden war, wurde er um das J. 510 zum Vorstande desselben gewählt und führte dieses Amt mit großer Weisheit. Einige Zeit nachher, etwa um das J. 514, erhielt er den Ruf auf den bischöflichen Stuhl von Lyon. Er wohnte im J. 516 dem Concilium von Agaunum bei. Im folgenden Jahre befand er sich auf der Synode von Epaone, wo 40 Sätze, die Kirchendisciplin betreffend, beschlossen wurden, und bald darauf hielt er im J. 517 eine Versammlung zu Lyon um eine blutschänderische Ehe, welche Stephanus, ein Oberbeamter des Königs Sigismund eingegangen halte, als ungiltig zu erklären. Sein Tod wird um das Jahr 524 erfolgt sein. (III. 303.)
