Adv., fern von, I) eig.: absque omnibus profanis, Apul. apol. 55. – II) übtr., weggenommen, 1) weggedacht, immer nur in Konditionalsätzen, wie: absque te esset, wärest du nicht, ständest du mir nicht bei, Plaut.: absque me foret et meo praesidio, stand ich und meine Hilfe dir nicht zur Seite, Plaut.: absque hoc esset, täte er es nicht, wenn er nicht wäre, Ter.: quam fortunatus sum ceteris rebus, absque unā hāc foret, wäre dieses einzige nicht, Ter.: u. so bl. absque te uno, Gell. Vgl. Brix zu Plaut. trin. 832. Holtze Synt. 1, 344. – 2) wirklich weggenommen, a) = ausgenommen, abgerechnet, außer, absque paucis syllabis, Gell.: absque cauda, Solin.: absque Augusto, Aur.
