I) die Knospe, der Blumenkelch, rosae, lilii, Plin. – II) die weichere Schale der Früchte (Ggstz. putamen), echinatus (castanearum), Plin.: pulvinatus (nucum), Plin. – III) die Schale der Schaltiere, calyces cochlearum, Plin.: calyces echinometrarum, Plin. – IV) die Eierschale, ovorum calyces, Plin. 28, 19. – V) die Wachshülle um das Obst, damit es vor dem Verderben geschützt wird, Plin. 15, 64. – VI) eine unbekannte Pflanze, Plin. 27, 58 sq.
