Chorda dorsālis (Rückenstab, Rückensaite, Wirbelsaite, Notochord), eine stabförmige Knorpelbildung, die im Embryo der Wirbeltiere die Grundlage und zentrale Achse der Wirbelsäule bildet, beim Amphioxus dieselbe allein vertritt, auch bei den Embryonen, bez. Larven der Seescheiden und dauernd bei den Appendikularien (einer Abteilung der letztern) vorhanden ist.
