Facciolāti

Facciolāti (spr. fattscho-), Jacopo, ital. Lexikograph und latein. Stilist, geb. 4. Jan. 1682 in Torreglia bei Padua, gest. 27. Aug. 1769 in Padua, studierte im Seminar dieser Stadt, wurde an demselben 1704 Professor, 1707 Direktor und war 1723 bis 1755 zugleich Professor der Logik an der dortigen Universität. Er veranstaltete mit seinem Schüler Forcellini neue Ausgaben des von Ambr. Calepino ursprünglich in vier Sprachen (Reggio 1502) begonnenen »Dictionarium undecim linguarum« (Padua 1718, 2 Bde.) sowie des »Thesaurus Ciceronianus« von Mario Nizzoli (das. 1734) und veranlaßte Forcellinis (s.d.) »Totius latinitatis lexicon« sowie eine Ausgabe von Schrevels griechischem Lexikon, an beiden tätig mitwirkend. Seine lateinischen Reden (drei Sammlungen, 1723–67) zeichnen sich durch Eleganz aus. Vgl. Gennari, Vita di Jacopo F. (Padua 1818); Natusch, Narratio de Jacobo F. (Dresd. 1836).
