Amol (Amul), Stadt in der pers. Provinz Masenderan, am Kaspischen Meer, im 13. Jahrh. Haupt- und Residenzstadt des Reiches, hat 10–20,000 Einw., im Sommer bedeutend weniger. In der Umgebung Eisenbergbau, Reis- und Baumwollkultur.
