Homonym (griech.), gleichnamig, gleichlautend, besonders von Wörtern, die dabei verschiedene Bedeutung haben (Homonymen), gebraucht (z. B. malen und mahlen, sein in doppelter Bedeutung); daher Homonymie, Gleichnamigkeit, auch soviel wie Doppelsinnigkeit, Zweideutigkeit; Homonymik, Sammlung von Homonymen.
