Mallōtus Lour., Gattung der Euphorbiazeen, Bäume oder Sträucher mit wechsel-, selten gegenständigen, gestielten, ganzen oder gelappten, bisweilen schildförmigen, auf der Unterseite behaarten und mit glänzenden Drüsen besetzten Blättern, ährigen oder rispigen, meist achselständigen Blütenständen und weichhaarigen, schuppig drüsigen oder stacheligen Kapseln. Etwa 80 Arten in den Tropen der östlichen Halbkugel, besonders in Südasien und auf den Malaiischen Inseln. M. philippinensis Müll. – Arg. (s. Tafel »Arzneipflanzen III«, Fig. 10, mit Text).
