Banjalūka

Banjalūka, Stadt im Ejalet Bosna (Europäische Türkei); am Verbas u. Bania, ist eine der längsten Städte Bosniens, besteht aus 2 Theilen, von denen der eine 2 Dörfer begreift mit 7 Moscheen; durch den andern (den Haupttheil) der Stadt fließt der Verbas; hat 4 Moscheen, Citadelle, Mineralquellen; 15,000 Einw. B. wurde 1737 durch die Österreicher unter dem Prinzen von Hildburghausen vergebens belagert, vgl. Türken (Gesch.).
