Boyne (sonst Oboca), 1) schiffbarer Fluß in Irland, entspringt im N. der Grafschaft Kildare, Provinz Leinster, nimmt in East Meath den Blackwater auf, hat einen Kanal bis Trim u. mündet ins Irische Meer unweit Drogheda; an seinen Ufern schlug am 11. Juli 1690 Wilhelm III. von Oranien seinen Schwiegervater Jakob II., s. Reunionskrieg, England (Gesch.), Schottland (Gesch.), Irland (Gesch.). 2) Stadt im Arrondissement Pithiviers des französischen Departements Loiret; Safran- u. Weinbau; 2000 Ew. 3) Kleiner Küstenfluß in der englischen Colonie Neu-Süd-Wales; mündet in die Curtisbai.
