Chloranil

Chloranil (Übergechlortes Chinon, Perchlorchinon, Chem.), C12Cl4O4, bildet sich bei der Einwirkung eines Gemenges von chlorsaurem Kali u. Salzsäure auf Chinon, Phenylige Säure, Oxyphensäure, Anilin, Salicin, Isatin etc.; blaßgelbe, metallische u. perlmutterglänzende Krystalle, die sich unverändert sublimiren lassen, sich nicht in Wasser, kaum in kaltem Alkohol lösen; in siedendem Alkohol löst es sich mit blaßgelber Farbe u. krystallisirt beim Erkalten in irisirenden, dem Jodblei ähnlichen Blättchen.; in Äther lößt es sich leichter als in Alkohol; schwefelige Säure verwandelt es in Übergechlortes Hydrochinon; mit Ammoniak bildet es eigenthümliche Amidverbindungen. Durch Behandeln mit verdünnter Kalilauge entsteht Chloranilsäure, C6ClO3 + HO, an Kali gebunden, isolirt bildet sie hellrothe glänzende Blättchen, die sich in Wasser mit schön rother Farbe auflösen. Ammoniak verwandelt das Ch. in Chloranilammon, C6ClO3 + H3N, welches in braunen, glänzenden Krystallen erhalten werden kann u. durch Schwefelsäure od. Salzsäure in Chloranilam, C12Cl2O6 + H3N, übergeht, dieses bildet schwarze, diamantglänzende Nadeln, die sich in Wasser mit violetter Farbe auflösen.
