Iodhydrin

Iodhydrin, C12H11IO6, goldgelbe ölige Flüssigkeit, welche in Alkohol u. Äther löslich, in Wasser unlöslich ist, ist nicht flüchtig u. gibt mit Ätzkali bei 100° Jodkalium; man erhält es, wenn man Glycerin bei 100° mit Jodwasserstoffsäure sättigt, einige Zeit bei 100° erhitzt u. mit kohlensaurem Kali neutralisirt; durch Äther wird dann das J. aus der Flüssigkeit ausgezogen.
