Podophyllum

Podophyllum (P. L.), Pflanzengattung aus der Familie der Berberideae, 13. Kl. 1. Ordn. L.; Arten; P. peltatum, mit ganz einfachem, 5–10 Zoll hohem, am Ende zwei gegenüberstehende, schildförmig gelappte, große Blätter, zwischen diesen eine überhängende weiße, wohlriechende Blume von der Größe einer Rose u. eine blaßgelbe, wohlschmeckende Frucht tragendem Stängel, starkes Erbrechen erregender Wurzel, in Nordamerika, in feuchten Wäldern; P. callicarpum, P. montanum, ebd.; P. Emodi, am Himalaya.
