Rebut

Rebut (fr., spr. Rebüh), 1) Abweisung, abschlägige Antwort; 2) Schadhaftigkeit. Ausschuß; 3) Abschaum der Menschheit; 4) Verweigerung der Annahme einer zugesandten schlecht beschaffenen Waare. Daher Rebutiren, schadhafte Waaren von den guten absondern, od. dieselben zurücksenden. Reputant, abschreckend, zurückstoßend, widrig, niederschlagend.
