Schoharie, 1) (S. Creek), Fluß im Staate New York (Nordamerika), entspringt in der Grafschaft Greene, fließt durch die Grafschaft S. in die[365] Grafschaft Montgomery u. fällt dort in den Mohawk River; 2) Grafschaft im Staate New York, 30 QM., von den Schoharie, Cobuskill u. Catskill Creeks durchflossen; im Westen durch die Catskill Range gebirgig; Boden höchst fruchtbar; Producte: Weizen, Hafer, Kartoffeln, Rindvieh, Eisen, Sandstein, Mineralquellen; Industrie in Leder, Holz u. Eisen; die Albany-Susquehanna Eisenbahn durchschneidet die Grafschaft; 1795 aus Theilen der Grafschaften Albany u. Otsego gebildet; 1850: 33,548 Ew.; 3) Hauptstadt darin, am Schoharie Creek u. der Albany-Susquehanna Eisenbahn; Akademie.
