The Nerves waren eine amerikanische Power-Pop-Band der späten 70er bis frühen 80er Jahre um die Singer-Songwriter Peter Case, Paul Collins und Jack Lee. Aus Lees Feder stammen das von Blondie gecoverte Hanging on the Telephone und Come Back and Stay, mit dem Paul Young einen Hit in den Achtzigern landen konnte. Aus den Nerves gingen die Plimsouls und Paul Collins Beat hervor.
