Aneurin Bevan, besser bekannt als Nye Bevan, (* 15. November 1897 in Tredegar, Monmouthshire, Wales; † 6. Juli 1960 in London) war ein britischer Politiker der walisischen Labour Party. Als Gründer des National Health Service gilt er in der politischen Linken Großbritanniens als Held.

Aneurin Bevan wurde als Sohn nonkonformistischer Eltern geboren. Er war in seiner Jugend Mitglied der Liberal Party. Inspiriert durch die sozialistischen Schriften Robert Blatchfords, trat er jedoch aus der Partei aus und wurde Mitglied der Independent Labour Party.

Als die Labour Party 1945 die Regierung bildete, wurde er Minister für Gesundheit. Das am 5. Juli 1948 beschlossene Gesetz des National Health Service, welches den britischen Bürgern eine medizinische Grundversorgung garantiert, ist ihm zuzuschreiben, da er sich in jahrelangem Streit gegen die pharmazeutisch-medizinische Lobby durchsetzte, die sich strikt gegen das Gesetz wandte.
