Die Asian Bamboo AG ist ein deutsches Agrarunternehmen mit Schwerpunkt auf der Bambusherstellung in China. Der Unternehmenssitz befindet sich in Hamburg. Seit dem 16. November 2007 ist Asian Bamboo im Prime Standard der Deutschen Börse gelistet. Im Jahr 2010 erzielte das Unternehmen bei einem Umsatz von 75,91 Millionen Euro einen Nachsteuergewinn von 33,51 Millionen Euro.

Unternehmensstruktur

Auf 14.649 Hektar gepachteter Agrarfläche in China baut Asian Bamboo nach ökologischen Gesichtspunkten Bambussprossen und Bambusstämme an. Zudem bestehen drei Anlagen zur Rohverarbeitung und eine Fabrik zur Feinverarbeitung von Bambussprossen. Insgesamt beschäftigt das Unternehmen rund 300 Mitarbeiter. Hauptabsatzmarkt für die in China hergestellten Bambussprossen ist Japan. Im Jahr 2006 erzeugte Asian Bamboo rund fünf Prozent der gesamten ökologisch angebauten Bambussprossenexporte aus der Volksrepublik China.[1] Die Bambusstämme werden hauptsächlich im chinesischen Binnenmarkt abgesetzt.
