Oron ist eine französische Gemeinde, die im Département Moselle und in der Region Lothringen liegt. Sie gehört zum Arrondissement Château-Salins und zum Kanton Delme. Der Ort hat 107 Einwohner (Stand 1. Januar 2008).

Geografie

Oron liegt südöstlich von Metz im Saulnois an der Französischen Nied (Nied française) auf einer Höhe zwischen 234 und 302 m über dem Meeresspiegel. Das Gemeindegebiet umfasst 5,37 km².

Geschichte

Das Dorf gehört seit 1661 zu Frankreich und trug 1915–18 den verdeutschten Namen Orn bzw. 1940–44 Oren.
