Pannotia, auch Vendia oder Größeres Gondwanaland, ist ein hypothetischer präkambrischer Superkontinent. Er existierte vermutlich kurzzeitig von 600 bis 540 mya durch die flüchtige Kollision der Kontinentalschollen, die sich bereits tektonisch spreizten.

200 Millionen Jahre nach dem Zerfall Rodinias schlossen sich die drei Bruchstücke

zusammen: Das heutige Westaustralien, der Kongo und Teile Südafrikas, der Antarktis, der Arabische Halbinsel und die Ostküste Indiens waren – wie auch eine Nord-Süd Kette kleiner Terrane – in den Tropen, und damit eisfrei; der Rest der Erde wurde um den Südpol vollständig zum „Eishaus“ vergletschert. Die Anordnung der Kontinente war also aus heutiger Sicht „verkehrt herum“.

Pannotia zerfiel in vier Kontinente:

Um 300 mya – weitere 250 Millionen Jahre später – formte sich der letzte alte Superkontinent Pangaea aus allen Kratonen der Erde.
