Pen Hadow

Pen Hadow (* 26. Februar 1962) ist ein britischer Polarforscher und Autor.

Vom 17. März bis zum 19. Mai 2003 bewältigte er als erster allein und ohne Unterstützung die 775 Kilometer von der Nordküste Kanadas zum Nordpol.[1].

Catlin Arctic Survey

Bei der Catlin Arctic Survey 2009 will er als Expeditionsleiter zusammen mit Martin Hartley und Ann Daniels Daten über das Abschmelzen des Nordpols sammeln. Auf einem 2000 Kilometer langen Weg wollen sie auf Skiern mit Hilfe des Radarsystems SPRITE alle zehn Zentimeter die Eisdicke messen.[2] Dazu sind sie am 28. Februar 2009 im Packeis im Norden Kanadas von einem Flugzeug abgesetzt worden.
