Pre-organizer

Der Advance Organizer (auch Pre-Organizer) ist ein Textelement, welches für Lehrtexte, wissenschaftliche Arbeiten sowie für Technische Dokumentation verwendet wird. Die Platzierung ist immer am Anfang eines Textes.

Der Advance Organizer liefert einen kurzen Überblick über den Inhalt des folgenden Textes, ist aber keine reine Zusammenfassung. Der Leser kann anhand dieser Information schnell erfassen, welches Vorwissen er aktivieren muss, um den Lernstoff möglichst effizient zu bearbeiten. Also dient der Advance Organizer dem Lernenden, bestimmte Konzepte aus seinem Langzeitgedächtnis als Basis für den anstehenden Lernprozess bereitzustellen.

Das Konzept des Advance Organizer erforschte David Ausubel in den 1970er Jahren anhand der Wirkung von Lehrtexten. Psychologische Analysen und Vergleiche von Lehrtexten zeigten sehr gute Lernerfolge bei Texten mit einem Advance Organizer.

Das Ergebnis der Studie teilte sich in drei Stufen. Dem Advance Organizer als vorangestellte Erläuterung des Textinhalts, den Concurrent Organizer als Randbemerkung/Marginalie und den Post Organizer, als eine Zusammenfassung/Merksatz.
