Richard Woodville, auch Richard Wydeville, (* um 1405 in Maidstone; † 12. August 1469 in Northampton) war ein englischer Soldat und Adliger.
Leben
Richard diente bereits unter König Heinrich V. von England und wurde unter dessen Nachfolger 1425 Kommandant des Tower of London. Ein Jahr später zum Ritter geschlagen, kämpfte er in Frankreich und auf Seiten des Hauses Lancaster im Rosenkrieg. Die Ehe seiner bereits verwitweten Tochter Elizabeth mit dem englischen König Eduard IV. ließ ihn aber zum Haus York überwechseln. König Eduard machte ihn zum Lord High Treasurer, Baron Rivers (1448) und Earl Rivers (1466).
Die Gunst, die der Rivers-Familie zuteil wurde, erweckte den Unmut der alten Adelsfamilien, die bald in offene Feindschaft umschlug. Woodville wurde schließlich zum Tode verurteilt und am 12. August 1469 in Northampton enthauptet.
