Werdegang

Rod Stewart bei einem Live-Auftritt in Oslo (Norwegen), 5. November 1976.

Stewart sang während der 1960er Jahre bei Jimmy Powell and the Five Dimensions, Long John Baldry's Hoochie Coochie Men, The Soul Agents, Shotgun Express, Steampacket und der Jeff Beck Group.

1969 nahm Stewart An Old Raincoat Won’t Ever Let You Down, sein erstes Soloalbum, auf. In Nordamerika hieß es The Rod Stewart Album.

It Had To Be You - The Great American Songbook.

In der New Year Honours List 2007 wurde die Ernennung zum Commander of the Order of the British Empire wegen seiner Verdienste um die Musik bekanntgegeben.
