Roger Kingdom

Roger Kingdom (* 26. August 1962 in Vienna, Georgia) ist ein ehemaliger US-amerikanischer Leichtathlet.

Kingdom war einer der stärksten 110-m-Hürden-Sprinter der 1980er und 1990er Jahre. In seiner langen Karriere auf Weltklasse-Niveau gewann er zwei olympische Goldmedaillen 1984 und 1988 und zudem bei den Leichtathletik-Weltmeisterschaften 1995 in Göteborg nochmals die Bronzemedaille. 1989 stellte er beim Grand Prix-Meeting in Zürich einen Weltrekord mit 12,92 Sekunden auf, der 1993 von Colin Jackson bei den Leichtathletik-Weltmeisterschaften 1993 in Stuttgart auf 12,91 Sekunden verbessert wurde.

Bei einer Größe von 1,85 Metern betrug Kingdoms Wettkampfgewicht 91 Kilogramm.[1]
