Saltzman

Harry Saltzman (* 27. Oktober 1915 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Kanada; † 28. September 1994 in Paris, Frankreich) war ein US-amerikanischer Filmproduzent.

Harry Saltzman, auch „The Showman“ genannt, hatte 1961 die Rechte der damals sehr erfolgreichen Romanfigur des Geheimagenten James Bond von Ian Fleming erworben und fand mit Albert R. Broccoli einen finanzkräftigen Partner, um eine Kinoserie zu produzieren. Die gemeinsame Filmfirma Eon Productions Ltd. brachte in Folge die erfolgreichste Kinoserie der Welt hervor.

Saltzman stieg jedoch 1975 aus persönlichen Gründen aus und verkaufte seinen Anteil an die United Artists.

1994 starb er an den Folgen eines Herzinfarktes.
