Sheerness on Sea ist eine englische Stadt auf der Isle of Sheppey in der Grafschaft Kent. Sie gehört zum Verwaltungsbezirk Swale und zählt ca. 20.000 Einwohner. Seit 1860 gibt es eine Eisenbahnverbindung über Queenborough zum Festland. Bedeutend sind die Hafenanlagen, über die vor allem Autos und schwerindustrielle Güter umgeschlagen werden. Seit 1974 bis zu seinem Tod im Februar 1984 lebte der deutsche Schriftsteller Uwe Johnson in Sheerness.

Am 7. April 2005 wurde hier am Strand der Piano Man aufgefunden.
