Simon Njami (* 1962 in Kamerun) ist ein in Paris lebender Kurator und Kunstkritiker.

Karriere

Er organisierte eine Vielzahl an Ausstellungen zur zeitgenössischen Kunst aus Afrika, vor allem Africa Remix (2004), den afrikanischen Pavillon auf der Biennale in Venedig (zusammen mit Fernando Alvim, 2007) und die Kunstmesse Joburg Art Fair im Jahr 2008.[1] Von 2001 bis 2003 war er künstlerischer Leiter der Gruppe Rencontres de la Photographie Africainen und seit 2001 Direktor der Bamako Photography Biennale. Zudem ist er als Berater für die Association Française d'Action Artistique tätig, ist Mitbegründer der Zeitschrift Revue Noire und publizierte Titel wie Coffin and Co. oder Flash Afrique!. [2]
