Simon Vouet (* 9. Januar 1590 vermutlich in Paris; † 30. Juni 1649 ebenda) war ein französischer Maler des Barock.

1612 ging Simon Vouet nach Rom, wo er von Caravaggio beeinflusst, im Chiaroscuro-Stil malte, kehrte er 1627 als Hofmaler nach Frankreich zurück und malte im Auftrag Ludwigs XIII. bzw. Kardinal Richelieus im Louvre und im Palais Royal. Er beaufsichtigte die Ausstattung der königlichen Paläste. Seine späteren Arbeiten unterscheiden sich vom Chiaroscuro durch hellere Farbtöne und nur leichte hell-dunkel-Schattierungen. Sie stehen am Anfang der barocken Maltradition Frankreichs, die Simon Vouet als Lehrer von unter anderen Charles Le Brun stark beeinflusste.
