Smile.dk

Smile.dk (eigene Schreibweise SMiLE.dk) ist eine schwedische Pop-Gruppe. Sie wurde vor allem 1998 durch das Lied Butterfly bekannt, das in dem Videospiel Dance Dance Revolution eingearbeitet wurde.

Smile.dk besteht aus Cecilia Reiskog und Veronica Almqvist (geb. Larsson). Sie kommen beide aus Schweden, verkaufen ihre Musik jedoch hauptsächlich in Dänemark, was der Grund für das .dk hinter dem Namen ist.

Ehemalige Mitglieder sind:

  • Hanna Stockzell hat in April 2010 die Gruppe verlassen.
  • Nina Boquist (Nur am ersten Album beteiligt)
  • Malin Kernby (kam als Ersatz für Nina. Im Jahr 2008 verließ sie die Gruppe, jedoch ist sie noch in Doki Doki und in ein paar anderen Songs zu hören)

Obwohl Smile.dk nicht aus Japan kommen, haben sie sich inzwischen auf japanischen J-Pop spezialisiert.

Die Ähnlichkeit zu J-Pop führte auch dazu, dass eine Vielzahl an Online-Quellen (darunter auch populäre Musikseiten) ihren bekanntesten Song Butterfly häufig fälschlich der japanischen Popsängerin Ayumi Hamasaki zurechneten, obwohl von dieser bis zum gegenwärtigen Zeitpunkt noch kein einziger Song mit rein englischem Songtext veröffentlicht worden ist.

Zurzeit sind Veronica und Cecilia im Studio und nehmen Songs für ihr kommendes Album "Make-Up Collection 2011" auf.
