Als Superpipe wird eine Snowboard-Halfpipe bezeichnet, wenn sie eine Höhe von sechs Metern und mehr hat. Nur dann genügt sie den Wettkampfregeln des Internationalen Skiverbands FIS und der olympischen Disziplin „Snowboard-Halfpipe“.

Superpipes werden von an Pistenraupen montierten Fräsen erstellt. Die bekanntesten Hersteller solcher „Shaper“ sind Kässbohrer (Deutschland), HiTe Metal Oy (Finnland) und Zaugg (Schweiz).

Ständig eingerichtete Superpipes gibt es unter anderem in den Skigebieten Arosa (Snowboard-Weltmeisterschaft 2007) (Schweiz), Davos (Schweiz), Innsbruck-Seegrube/Nordkette und Hintertuxer Gletscher, Laax (Schweiz), Oberstdorf (seit dem 1. März 2011), Saas Fee (Schweiz), Valle Nevado Chile, (einzige Superpipe Südamerikas), Zugspitze sowie in nahezu allen größeren Skigebieten in Kanada, Skandinavien und den USA. Neu hinzu kommt aufgrund der ersten olympischen Jugend-Winterspiele 2012 die Superpipe im Kühtai in Tirol.
