Tagline

Mit dem Ausdruck Tagline bezeichnet man beim Film ergänzende oder erläuternde Untertitel, die zusätzlich zum eigentlichen Filmtitel, in der Regel meist auf Postern oder auf den CD- und DVD-Verpackungen von Videos und DVDs, angegeben werden. Sie haben in erster Linie einen Lockeffekt und sind deshalb ein wichtiger Aspekt bei der Vermarktung der jeweiligen Filme.

Zunehmend finden sich in der Werbung Taglines als eine moderne Form des Werbeslogan. Sie verdichtet auch hier die konzeptionelle Botschaft in einem leicht merkbaren Satz.

Im Usenet ist Tagline die Kurzbeschreibung einer Newsgroup. Eine andere Art der Zusammenfassung einer Filmhandlung ist die Log Line.
