The Strawbs sind eine britische Rock- und Folkrock-Band, die seit Mitte der 1960er Jahre zusammenspielt.
Ihr Anführer, Gitarrist und wichtigster Songschreiber ist Dave Cousins, der die Gruppe mit Tony Hooper (Gitarre) und Ron Chesterman (E-Bass) unter dem Namen The Strawberry Hill Boys gründete.
Neben Cousins und Hooper waren langjährige Mitspieler Rick Wakeman (bekannt von Yes), Blue Weaver, der auch bei Amen Corner, Mott the Hoople und den Bee Gees mitspielte, Rick Hudson und John Ford, die auch als Duo Hudson-Ford Hits landen konnten, Dave Lambert, Brian Willoughby, Chas Cronk und John Hawken (auch The Nashville Teens, Renaissance, Spooky Tooth, Vinegar Joe). Mehrmals arbeitete die Band mit Sandy Denny (Sängerin auch bei Fairport Convention und Fotheringay).
Den größten kommerziellen Erfolg erreichte die Gruppe 1973 in der Besetzung Cousins, Lambert, Hudson, Ford, Weaver, insbesondere mit dem Song Part Of The Union.
Anfang 2005 war die Gruppe wieder als Acoustic Strawbs in der mittlerweile 24. Besetzung Cousins, Lambert, Hudson, Ford, Weaver, Willoughby auf Tour durch England.
