Baron Grenfell, of Kilvey in der Grafschaft Glamorgan, ist ein erblicher britischer Adelstitel in der Peerage of the United Kingdom, benannt nach der Familie Grenfell.

Verleihung

Der Titel wurde 1902 für den Offizier Sir Francis Wallace Grenfell geschaffen. Dieser hatte insbesondere in Ägypten während des Urabi- und des Mahdi-Aufstandes gedient. Er war Sirdar der Ägyptischen Armee gewesen, später dann Gouverneur von Malta und Oberbefehlshaber in Irland.

Weiterer Titel

Der jetzige Baron wurde im Jahre 2000 neben seinem erblichen Titel zum Life Peer als Baron Grenfell of Kilvey, of Kilvey in der Grafschaft Swansea ernannt. Er hat damit wieder einen Sitz im House of Lords, aus dem erbliche Lords 1999 ausgeschlossen wurden, einnehmen können.
