Der U.S. News & World Report ist ein wöchentlich erscheinendes amerikanisches Nachrichtenmagazin, das ab Januar allerdings nur noch monatlich erscheinen wird.
Es wurde 1933 als United States News gegründet. Seit der Fusion mit dem Magazin World Report 1948 erscheint es unter seinem heutigen Titel. David Lawrence (1888-1973),der Gründer der Zeitschrift, verkaufte sie an seine Mitarbeiter, die ihre Anteile wiederum 1984 an Mortimer Zuckermann, den Mitherausgeber der New York Daily News, veräußerten.
Der U.S. News & World Report steht politisch rechts von seinen Hauptkonkurrenten TIME und Newsweek. Hinter diesen beiden Magazinen belegt die Zeitschrift auflagenmäßig den dritten Rang im Nachrichtenmagazinsektor. Bekannt ist sie vor allem durch eine jährlich erscheinende Rangliste der amerikanischen Universitäten.
Trotz seinen hohen Verkaufszahlen wird US News and World Report aufgrund der durch die Finanzkrise bedingten Verluste ab Januar 2009 nur noch in einem monatlichen Ritus erscheinen. Ergänzend werden Updates im Internet veröffentlicht.
