Vinessa Shaw (* 19. Juli 1976 in Los Angeles) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin.

Leben und Leistungen

Vinessa Shaw, Tochter der Schauspielerin Susan Damante-Shaw, debütierte im Horrorfilm Bloodparty aus dem Jahr 1981. Sie studierte am Barnard College, erhielt jedoch keinen Abschluss. Für ihre Rolle in der Sportkomödie Monty – Immer hart am Ball (1992) wurde sie im Jahr 1993 für den Young Artist Award nominiert. Für ihre Rolle in der Fantasykomödie Hocus Pocus (1993), in der sie an der Seite von Bette Midler und Sarah Jessica Parker spielte, wurde sie im Jahr 1994 für den Young Artist Award nominiert. Für ihre Rolle in der Fernsehserie McKenna (1994) sowie für den Gastauftritt in der Fernsehserie Mord ist ihr Hobby im Jahr 1994 erhielt Shaw im Jahr 1995 jeweils eine Nominierung für den Young Artist Award.

Im Abenteuerfilm Coyote Summer (1996) übernahm Shaw eine der Hauptrollen. In Stanley Kubricks Eyes Wide Shut (1999) spielte sie die Prostituierte Domino. Eine der größeren Rollen spielte sie neben Aaron Stanford und Kathleen Quinlan im Horrorfilm The Hills Have Eyes – Hügel der blutigen Augen (2006). Im Kriegsdrama Badland (2007) verkörperte sie die Ehefrau eines Veteranen (Jamie Draven), die von diesem getötet wird.

Vinessa Shaw war auch als Fotomodell tätig. Ihre Schwester Natalie Shaw ist ebenfalls Schauspielerin.
