Veritas File System (kurz: VxFS) ist ein Journaling-Dateisystem für verschiedene Unix-Derivate.

Es ist eine Weiterentwicklung von UFS, Dateiinhalte von Inode < 96 Byte, dann Daten in Inodes statt den Adressen Für Verwendung in einer Unix Umgebung konzipiert, in der hohe Leistung und Verfügbarkeit erforderlich sind und große Mengen an Daten verarbeitet werden. Aufbau: (Boot Block), Super Block, I-Nodes, Datenblöcke

VxFS wurde ab 1990 von der Firma Veritas im Auftrag von AT&T entwickelt.

Das Dateisystem ist für verschiedene Unix-Systeme erhältlich, etwas Sun Solaris oder HP-UX.
