Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN – engl. „Weitverkehrsfunknetz“) bezeichnet ein weites Funknetz. Es stellt das Funkpendant zu WAN (Wide Area Network) dar. Im Gegensatz zum Wireless Local Area Network werden mit dem WWAN größere Reichweiten (im Freien) gedeckt.
Hierunter fallen z. B. die Funknetze WiMAX, GSM und UMTS. GSM und UMTS werden derzeit vorwiegend für Mobiltelefone und Notebooks verwendet.
