Washington County[1] ist ein County im Bundesstaat New York der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika. Bei der Volkszählung im Jahr 2000 hatte Washington County 61.042 Einwohner und eine Bevölkerungsdichte von 28 Einwohnern pro Quadratkilometer. Der Verwaltungssitz (County Seat) ist Hudson Falls.

Geschichte

Das County wurde am 12. März 1772 als Charlotte County aus Albany County gebildet. 1784 wurde es umbenannt in Washington County, nach US-Präsident George Washington.

Geographie

Das County hat eine Fläche von 2.191 Quadratkilometern, wovon 27 Quadratkilometer Wasserfläche sind.
