William Hill Poker Grand Prix

Der William Hill Poker Grand Prix ist ein Pokerturnier das von William Hill plc gesponsert wird. 2005 fand es vom 17. bis 25. Oktober und 2007 vom 30. Januar bis 27. März statt. Bei beiden Ausgaben spielten 56 Profis und Amateure mit. Beide Turniere wurden in Cardiff ausgetragen.

Das Startgeld betrug 6.000 Pfund (etwa 10.500 Dollar). Etwa 200.000 weitere Dollar wurden von William Hill dem Preisfonds hinzugefügt. Eine limitierte Anzahl von Spielern qualifizierte sich über Online-Aufstiegsturniere.

Jesse May kommentierte die Sendung auf Sky Sports, unterstützt von Andrew Black und Lucy Rokach.

Format

Sieben Vorentscheidungen wurden gespielt, wobei der Sieger jeder Vorentscheidung zum Grand Final (großes Finale) gelangte. Die Zweitplatzierte nahmen an einer Halbfinalrunde gegeneinander teil, deren Gewinner ebenfalls das Finale erreichte, in dem die Sieger der sieben Vorentscheidungen, Heats genannt, und der Sieger des Halbfinales spielten.
