Worldcon

Die Worldcon (World Science Fiction Convention) ist eine jährlich veranstaltete Versammlung der World Science Fiction Society (WSFS). Die erste Worldcon (auf der deutschen Worldcon-Seite auch „der erste Worldcon“ genannt) fand vom 2. bis 4. Juli 1939 anlässlich der Weltausstellung in New York statt. In den beiden folgenden Jahren fanden zwei weitere Worldcons statt, doch wurden die Versammlungen während des Zweiten Weltkriegs unterbrochen und erst 1946 wieder veranstaltet.

Auf der Worldcon wird auch der begehrte Hugo Award vergeben.
