Die 3,11 km² große Insel Wyre (nord. Vigr) gehört zu den schottischen Orkney und hat 18 Einwohner.

Sie liegt 14 km nördlich von Kirkwall, dem Hauptort der Inselgruppe auf der Hauptinsel Mainland. Die Insel ist flach und hat eine Länge (Ost-West) von 3 km bei einer Breite von 1,5 km. Eine Fährverbindung besteht mit dem Hafen Tingwall auf Mainland sowie mit Brinyan auf der Nachbarinsel Rousay, von der Wyre durch den nur 1 km breiten Wyre Sound getrennt ist.

Sehenswürdigkeit sind die Grundmauern der Ruine von Cubbie Roo’s Castle, einer etwa 1145 entstandenen und damit der ältesten steinernen Burganlagen der Orkney, deren Kern ursprünglich ein rechteckiger 8×8 m mächtiges normannisches Tower house war. Der Name geht auf eine orkadische Sagengestalt zurück. Der Riese Cubie Roo, auch als der aus Norwegen stammende "Kolbein Hrúga" bekannt, wehrte sich gegen die Christianisierung der Inseln. Die Orkneyinga saga überliefert in Chapter 84:

„At the time there was a very able man called Kolbein Heap farming on Wyre in Orkney. He had a fine stone built fort, a really solid stronghold.“

In der Nähe befinden sich die Reste der Kirche St Mary’s Chapel. In „The Bu“ wohnte der bekannte schott. Schriftsteller Edwin Muir eine Zeit lang. Auf der Braes O’Habreck wurde von Antonia Thomas 2007 eine steinzeitlich Siedlung untersucht.
