Der Begriff Zweiphasenmarkierungscode oder englisch Biphase-Mark-Code ist ein Begriff aus der Telekommunikation, der einen Leitungscode bezeichnet.

Er ist mit dem differentiellen Manchester-Code vergleichbar, unterscheidet sich aber in einer unterschiedlichen Phasenlage des codierten Datenstromes: Es ist eine zusätzliche zeitliche Verschiebung des uncodierten Datensignals um eine halbe Bitzellenzeit notwendig, um den Biphase-Mark-Code in den differentiellen Manchester-Code überzuführen.

Für jedes Bit Daten werden zwei Leitungszustände übertragen. Am Anfang eines Bits wird im Gegensatz zum Manchester Code auf jeden Fall ein Zustandswechsel vorgenommen. Danach unterscheidet sich die Codierung auf der Leitung folgendermaßen:

  • Bei einer 1 wechselt der Zustand in der Mitte des Bits.
  • Bei einer 0 bleibt der Zustand bis zum Ende des Bits gleich.

Anwendung findet der Biphase-Mark-Code beispielsweise zur seriellen, digitalen Audioübertragung bei dem im Studiobereich verbreiteten Standard AES-3 und bei dem im Heimbereich üblichen Standard S/PDIF.
