ARIPO

Die Afrikanische Regionale Organisation für Geistiges Eigentum (African Regional Intellectual Property Organization - ARIPO) ist eine internationale Organisation zur Kooperation unter afrikanischen Staaten in Patentrechts- und anderen Industrieeigentumsfragen. Sie besitzt die Kompetenz, Anträge auf Patente und Markenzeichen in seinen Mitgliedstaaten, die Mitglieder der Harare- (Patente) und Banjul- (Marken) Protokolle sind, zu hören. Sie hat den WIPO ST.3-Code AP.

Seine 16 Mitgliedsstaaten sind vorwiegend englisch-sprachig. Eine weitere Organisation, die Organisation Africaine de la Propriété Intellectuelle, umfasst im Wesentlichen das frankophone Afrika.

Der offizielle Name der Organisation wechselte 2005 von African Regional Industrial Property Organization in African Regional Intellectual Property Organization
