First Time ist ein Lied von Robin Beck aus dem Jahr 1988, das von Gavin Spencer, Tom Anthony und Terry Boyle geschrieben wurde.

Geschichte

Im Lied singt Robin Beck über eine positive erste Liebesbeziehung. Vor der Veröffentlichung hörte man den Song als Werbejingle für eine Coca-Cola-Werbung, durch die damalige ungeahnte Popularität beschloss man die Ballade zu veröffentlichen und außerhalb der Vereinigten Staaten wurde First Time erst recht ein kommerzieller Erfolg.

Die Veröffentlichung fand am 14. Oktober 1988 statt. In den Ländern Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz, Niederlande, Belgien, Norwegen, Großbritannien und Irland wurde die Popballade ein Nummer-eins-Hit.

Musikvideo

Zu Beginn des Musikvideos macht sich Robin Beck in einem Badezimmer zurecht, dann tätigt sie einen Anruf und geht durch ihre Wohnung. Während ihres Rundganges werden in Fadeouts Szenen von Liebespaaren gezeigt. Anschließend sieht sie fern, schaltet den Fernseher schließlich aus und erhält am Ende Besuch.[2]
