Jacques Wallage (* 27. September 1946 in Apeldoorn) ist ein niederländischer Politiker. Er ist Mitglied der sozialdemokratischen Partij van de Arbeid (PvdA).

Leben

Wallage war von 1972 bis 1981 Beigeordneter und von 1998 bis 2009 Bürgermeister der Stadt Groningen und wurde von Peter Rehwinkel abgelöst.

Geboren wurde er in Apeldoorn im Mitten der Niederlande. Später zog seine Familie nach Groningen, in Nordholland. Er stammt aus einer mittelständischen jüdischen Familie und wuchs in Groningen auf und studierte dort. Er trat seiner Partei 1964 bei.

Von 1981 bis 1989 und von 1994 bis 1998 war er Mitglied der Zweiten Kammer. Bei den Wahlen in 1994 war er Kampagnenleiter seiner Partei und von 1989 bis 1994 Staatssekretär.

Seit 2009 ist Wallage Honorarprofessor an der Reichsuniversität Groningen.
