Jeremy Thurlow (* 1967) ist ein britischer Komponist.

Studium

Thurlow studierte an der University of Cambridge. Kompositionsunterricht erhielt er von Alexander Goehr. Außerdem verbrachte er ein Jahr an der Guildhall School of Music and Drama, wo er Komposition und Musiktheater studierte, bevor er dann am King’s College London promovierte.[1]

Oeuvre

Sein Oeuvre besteht aus Orchesterwerken, Choirstücken, sowie Kompositionen für Sologesang als auch kammermusikalische Ensembles. Einige dieser Werke wurden von dem BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Matthew Schellhorn, dem Fitzwilliam String Quartet, Rolf Hind, Sequitur,[2] Endymion und den BBC Singers aufgeführt.[3]

Auszeichnungen

2007 wurde er mit dem George Butterworth Award für Komposition für seine Videooper A Sudden Cartography of Song, komponiert in Zusammenarbeit Alistair Appleton.[4]

Er ist ein Fellow am Robinson College, University of Cambridge, an dem er über Musik lehrt, und Kompositionsunterricht erteilt.[5]
