McDermott International ist die Konzernmutter von Unternehmen wie Babcock & Wilcox und J. Ray McDermott und betreibt über seine Tochterunternehmen seit dem Jahr 2000 für das Energieministerium der Vereinigten Staaten die Anlage „Y12“,[2] die früher zum Oak Ridge National Laboratory gehörte, und seit 2006 das Nuklearforschungslabor Los Alamos National Laboratory.[2]
