Chipindo ist eine Gemeinde (município) im Süden der angolanischen Provinz Huíla, nahe der Stadt Matala.

Die Angaben zur Einwohnerzahl sind unterschiedlich. In der Endphase des angolanischen Bürgerkrieges 2002 hatte Chipindo nach Angaben der Ärzte ohne Grenzen 10.000 Einwohner, nachdem 4.000 (vorwiegend Kinder) infolge der kriegsbedingten Hungersnot verhungert waren^[1]. Andere Quellen berichten, dass 2004 die Bevölkerungszahl Chipindos auf 61.000 anstieg, nachdem etwa 21.000 Binnenvertriebene zurückgekehrt waren^[2].
